Defending the Emotional Case

Two children drowned in a canal where they were swimming in Georgetown County, SC. This tragedy and the devastating impact it had on the children's families and community was heart wrenching for all involved. When the families brought a suit against the large multi-national corporation that owned the canal, emotions ran high. As defense attorneys, Pratt-Thomas Walker's ability to be genuinely empathetic with the families while being tactfully aggressive on the issue was critical.

At trial we were able to establish that the company was not legally responsible and that while the death of these two children was tragic, our client was ultimately found not to be liable.

We are proud to become involved in complicated, difficult cases.
